Salvation

Do you know Christ?
Have you felt him tug at your heart?
Do you want to know him?

Please don't stop reading now...If you do, it is because you are afraid.  You are afraid to see who you really are or who you might end up being.  You are scared that you will lose what you have now.  You are fearful because you don't have a God to back you up.  Please stick around....

He is up in heaven looking down on you smiling because he has a plan for you.  All he wants from you is your heart and your trust.  Why not give it to him? He will be there when nobody else is, he will cry when you cry and laugh when you laugh.  He will be beside you all of your life until you enter his kingdom and meet him face to face.

Why not?

Jesus came to earth as a baby.  Was born to a poor family.  Grew up in the temple and in His father's word.  He NEVER sinned.  He didn't lust after women, he didn't commit any crime, he didn't think a bad thought.  

You may be thinking,  "Duh, he was God!"

Well you are right.  Jesus was God, but he was also fully man. 100% God and 100% man.

He ministered to those who seemed the least likely.  He healed the sick and cared for the blind.  He performed miracles such as bringing a man back from the dead. He did all kinds of things that were amazing!  Look in your bible!

Then he was accused of lying, the pharisees said that it was a crime to claim to be God, yet Jesus WAS God's son.

They took him and hung him on a cross.  nailing his hands and feet into the wood.  Pressing a crown of thorns deep into his skull.  And stabbing him in the side.  Jesus died.  But in three days he rose again from the dead!

By dying on the cross, Jesus took your sin upon himself.  You see?

What does Jesus say about this?

Pick up your Bible, blow of the dust and open up to a book called Matthew 16:24, that is chapter 16, verse 24.  It reads, Then Jesus said to his disciples (followers) "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself , and take up his cross and follow Me." 

You might be thinking 'Dude what the heck does that mean!!??"  Well, don't be worried about it because, I was scratching my head too when that verse was read to me for the first time.

Well, take it slow...one breath at a time.

Look it through and ask God what it means. If you have NEVER asked God for anything, or talked to him... it's OK.  Because you can do it right now :)  He hears you.  He loves you.  And cares about every grumble or peace that you bring to him.  Before I get to much off on a bunny trail, let me show you how I pray.

"God, I know that you are listening to my prayer...I know that you are watching me right now Lord.  I just pray that you would give me a revelation (an aha moment) about this verse....I love you Jesus and I pray in your name .  Amen"

Now that you have asked God what he means in his word.  I will explain to you what God has given me concerning this verse.

-You wish to follow after him.  You are serious in your hear and mind, inside and out that you want to follow Christ.
- You must lay down your life in a spiritual manor.  You must give up your pride, your lust, your sins, EVERYTHING.  You give him your guilt and shame, he will talk it upon his shoulders for you!  You won't have to carry it with you any more.  Can you imagine how light you will feel?  We all have shame, so get rid of it!  Jesus didn't die on the cross for nothing.


The sin that you lay at Jesus feet gets exchanged for your cross.  As you have died to yourself, you have died as Jesus has.  Your cross is your duty to tell others of the wonders of what Jesus has done for you.  you are to go out into the world and tell people of the good news!


Why wouldn't you?


Let us look at the next verse, Matthew 16:25 "For  whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."

Wow, so what does that mean? 

Well, here on earth you only have one chance.  If you blow it.  You blow it.  you only have one life to live on earth and if you don't give that life to Christ, you will lose it.  It will become lost in the depths of Hell.  Forever in the darkness, screams of those you once loved.  Life on earth will be like a dream and you will wish dearly that you had given your life into the hands of a savior that cared for you.  If you wish to save your life by keeping it, you are killing yourself, you WILL lose your life.  


If you lose your life by giving it into the hand of Jesus you will gain eternal life.  Life forever in Heaven.  Every true Christian has lain down themselves so that Christ can work in their life and mend their brokenness.  Don't you want that for yourself?  Don't you want your heart in the soft hands of Christ, not the cages of the devil?  


Listen now.  Some people think that they are going to go to hell and have a party and drink and fornicate with their friends....well, that is not the case.  If you think that this is true then you are going to be in for a rude awakening....

Back to Salvation.

Do you want to be saved?

Pray this prayer if you are feeling God tugging at your heart.


"Dear God, I know that I am not a good person.  I know that only through you and your death on the cross can I be saved. I pray for your forgiveness,  have sinned many times in my life and I cannot atone for what I have done.  But I know that your blood has covered me.  I want to be your child, I lay my life at your feet.  Do with me as you pleas.  I Christ's holy name.  Amen"
